Aim and Objectives - April 2022 East African Regional TVET Conference

1. This first East African Regional TVET Conference aiming for the enhancement of the sector with the following specific objectives:
2. To share knowledge on the sector wide reforms needed to improve TVET outcomes as relates to employment, income, and job quality
3. To share innovative, practices and concepts that enhance TVET delivery
4. To share experiences on building and sharing TVET knowledge and promising practices through facilitating regional exchanges on TVET
5. To strengthen a national/regional and international cooperation and network of TVET sector involving training institutions, industry/private sector, development partners and government in the Eastern Africa Region.

Highlights of the Conference

To ensure a very successful outcome of the conference, an organizing committee is constituted, comprised of members of the Associations’ Secretariat and some key partners. The conference is organized to include:   
i. The main conference featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions and presentations on the conference theme and other cross-cutting issues
ii. A forum of the women in technical education and training and development (WITED)

Who is expected to attend?

The Conference shall bring together at interfacing, distinguished TVET institutional administrators and managers, policy makers, partners and employers / industry from the East Africa regional states that comprise: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Seychelles, Democrat Republic of Congo (DRC) and the host country Tanzania.
