The Pan African Youth Forum

Since 2018, ATUPA has annually hosted the Fourth Pan-African Youth Forum for TVET Students. This forum serves as a vital continental platform, enabling youth representatives from TVET institutions across Africa to gain invaluable exposure. For many participants, this event marks their first experience at an international gathering and their initial journey beyond their home countries. The forum aims to enhance their leadership and social skills, as well as their capacity to make meaningful contributions to African society. Typically, the forum is organized in collaboration with the African Union Commission, Start-Up-Africa, and other partners, with objectives to:

  1. Highlight the significance of work-based learning in TVET for a seamless transition into the workplace and to ensure successful careers.
  2. Improve the understanding of globalization among youth representatives, as well as the opportunities offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA).
  3. Create a supportive environment for youth to discuss the challenges they encounter in securing work-based learning opportunities while pursuing their TVET programs.
  4. Foster the development of future TVET champions through the interaction of youth leaders with continental TVET leadership and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of good governance and strategic thinking.
